Minions Mount Up for 2009-2010

As the 2009-2010 youth wrestling season approaches, the GNWA staff is excited about the upcoming opportunities for Georgia’s young wrestlers.  The GNWA prides itself on promoting events that will challenge the best wrestles, yet include those wrestlers who are advancing toward greatness.  The GNWA will partner with Dixie Nationals this season and will host what is shaping up to be one of the toughest National dual events in the Southeast Region.  The Minion Duals event already has commitments from several Midwest and Northeast power house programs.

The GNWA is constantly searching for the best opportunities for young wrestlers to travel at an affordable rate, while seeking out the best competition from around the country.  As always, the GNWA schedule is open to anyone who wants to take on the challenge of national level competition.  Coaches are available to all wrestlers who travel with the group. Team building is always a focus of the GNWA staff.  The GNWA believes in strength in numbers as was clearly displayed in team placements last year at Games of Rome and returning home as the Rhino Extreme team champions.

The misconception of some, that GNWA aims to take away from Georgia’s growth and talent pool, could not be further from the truth.  It is the belief of the GNWA staff that by searching out the best possible competition and returning to Georgia with new found discipline, respect, and knowledge, GNWA involved wrestlers actually add to the quality and overall talent pool in our state.

During the season, the GNWA staff will be very involved in promoting some of the activities and achievements, secured nationally, by Georgia wrestlers.  Check back often for updates, results, clinic/camp opportunities, and video coverage as it relates to the demanding national travel schedule listed below.

December 5 – Local tournament near Ames, IA
December 6 – Attend Iowa vs. Iowa State Dual at 2 pm
December 27 – Dixie Nationals GNWA Minion Duals, Atlanta, GA
January 23 – Tulsa National, Tulsa, OK
January 30 – Rhino Extreme, Fayetteville, NC
February 21 – Indy nationals, Indianapolis, IN (Sunday)
April 10 – NUWAY Nationals, Battle Creek, MI
April 24 – Ohio Tournament of Champions, Columbus, OH
April 25 – TOC Duals, Columbus, OH


In addition to the youth schedule listed in this post, the Minions are planning to attack the country, wrestling in some of the nation’s top dual events.  More to come…
